ENGAGED: CREEDANCE & MARK

It was the rainiest day of November. When I mean rain, I mean pouring …. like buckets …. like cats and dogs. It was also cold … so frigid your fingers feel like they are going to freeze off. But Creedance & Mark braved it all … all for the love of each other … all to have those amazing engagement photographs. Why have your engagement session in the rain … well why not. You cannot control the weather on your wedding day …. and you cannot control the wedding on your engagement session either.

When I first met Creedance and Mark I noticed something very special about them as a couple. It seemed that no matter what type of day Mark was having Creedance would always get a laugh or smile out of Mark. I knew right away that when it was time for their engagement session we would have a blast together.

We met in Mystic at this old cemetery on the water. A cemetery … YES a cemetery. This location is so beautiful with many nooks and beautiful scenes to capture lifestyle portraits.

See  … you would never know …..

As we were braving the rain and walking around I found this magical little spot that we had to climb down this crazy slippery slope and almost landed into the water. I have to say though it was well worth it ….. I think these maybe some of my favorite images from this day!

After sometime in this location we then headed down to the center of Mystic. Mark and Creedance are really interested in all things nautical … so as we drove by I had to stop at this location.

Well it’s that time of the year to enjoy family and friends!

It’s also a time to recharge, regroup and gear up for the up coming year!

WOW!!!! With Christmas approaching fast and the holiday season present, I’ve been cranking out portrait sessions like a mad woman! But before I blog all the crazy portraits and engagement shoots I wanted to show you my very last wedding of the year!!!!!!

As I opened the door and heard all the noise inside the house, I could hear ….. laughter ….. music …. and the smell of good cooking! I walk down the stairs as I say HELLO … anyone here??? I peer around the corner to only find 10 groomsmen and a groom laughing … eating and full of excitement! It was wedding day for Donato and Bernadette …. and what a day it was!

After hanging out with the guys for a bit … I headed over to visit with the girls! Upon entering the house I was greeted with dogs and laughter! Giggling … champagne toast and of course all smiles!

Bernadette’s dress was unbelievable! Right from Pronovias NYC … with oodles and oodles of ruffles!

I love this moment as Bernadette and her father walk down the aisle.

He’s tall … really tall … She’s … well … umm … smaller than him

He got down on one knee in Grand Central Station … She said YES!

IN LOVE

Jen and Thom … When I meet the two of them all jen kept saying was “He’s a country boy and I’m a city girl!” So it was a no brainer that once I heard about their NYC engagement we had to go! They really had this idea of a vintage theme since they got engaged at Grand Central Station … So what’s a photographer to do but get creative and enjoy it!

When I got off the train in NYC and meet up with Jen & Thom they were excited and ready to go! They even packed their clothes for later on in these vintage suitcases!!!!

This photo is one of my favorites … it really shows the hustle and bussel of Grand Central Station!

After a quick change off to Central Park! Central Park is so HUGE!!! We had so much fun just roaming around!

Jen and Thom I cannot wait for your wedding in August!

“Freshman year at NJIT, Bartosz lived on the same floor as my friend. One day when I brought cookies over to her, I saw Bartosz walk by and as usual, my eyes lit up. My friend, having grown tired of this secret crush, carried me to Bartosz’s room, leaving me and the cookies to fend for themselves. Embarrassed and not knowing what to say, I asked, Would you like a cookie? He took one, thanking me as I ran away. Fours years later, after only saying hello in passing, I had a class with Bartosz … and the rest is history.” – Krystle

MARRIED!!!

We started our day out in the wee hours of the morning with Krystle and her girls. The day was gloomy and wet but Krystle had such an upbeat outlook …. I felt nothing could bring her down. There was to be an outside wedding and rain to be clearing ….No worries … she said!

Krystle is such a sweet person .. she always has such a smile on her face and always wanting to help with everything… just like her dress … I walk in and she was like .. Nikki what do you think about the dress up there for a shot? .. LOVE IT that she is already thinking….

Her sister was so excited for this day … she help Krystle with so much … from making their bouquets to getting dressed..

The house Krystle grew up in her father designed … they had this AMAZING glass mural on the wall of NYC with the twin towers in it … of course I see it and … well I had to shot Krystle with it! And that SMILE!!!

Ceremony Time: The guys all lined up and Bartosz so proud and anxious to see his bride.

Okay … so you see the duck … well as the vows are being said wouldn’t you know this guy and his friends came up right to the ceremony site … I was like really … but they never interrupted ..

Now along with the amazing band Krystle and Bartosz had they hired a fiddler!!!! Yeah … that’s right a fiddler!It was AMAZING!!!! Just look at all the fun everyone had!

One of the BEST parts about being a photographer is getting to see my couples return after the wedding!

EXPECTING : CARRIE & TREVOR

Carrie and Trevor are a past couple and have recently informed me that they were expecting! I was so excited for them both! The first words out of my mouth to Carrie was … MATERNITY SHOOT!!! And Carrie … who loves to be the star was like …. ummm at the beach??? Well after a bunch of rain reschedules and complications here we are … at the beach on the most perfect sunny .. warm .. October day!

Can I say how cute Carrie looks … Come on with here baby belly ….

After walking around on the beach I found this amazing patch of field … not sure if we should of been there but …. LOOK!

MARRIED: MICHELLE & ROB

When I first met Michelle almost a year ago her main concern was amazing photography …. and capturing some amazing portraits of her and Rob. Michelle and Rob had planned for a small intimate ceremony and a cocktail party at their house for a celebration. They wanted to have the focus of their commitment and love for each other. And also make a point to share the blending of two families together.

I started out my day at the house with Michelle .. she had the most simplest dress and amazing places to capture a couple of details…

I love this moment as Michelle is putting on Rob’s boutonniere and her son watches from behind ..

The ceremony was very small and intimate … it was held in the tiniest church in Rocky Hill .. so personal and beautiful. There was all this woodwork and beautiful light coming in through the windows that opened up …

After the ceremony we went to this AMAZING secret spot in Rocky Hill … see I grew up in Rocky Hill and just when I thought I knew all the perfect places to shoot at I found this little gem … of course I went back last week and they mowed down my hidden gem of a spot! Figures …..

See the yumminess I am talking about … be there at the right time of the day and BAM!!!! Perfectection on many levels ….

After my secret place we hit up the train tracks down by the ferry … a favorite spot of mine always!

I just love Michelle’s laugh and smile!

She steps out of the big old farm house … grinning from ear to ear! She looks up ….. she looks down ….. she walks faster and faster. Grinning and picking up the pace …. all dressed in her new wedding gown. She is anxious …. she cannot wait to see him …. she shuffles down the long dirt path way in her hot pink heels. She pauses , approaches him …. touches his shoulder …… and he turns around with the biggest smile from ear to ear.

MARRIED: JEN & ANDY

I had the up most pleasure of capturing the wedding of Jen & Andy at Tyrone Farm. It was the most perfect September afternoon .. not hot .. not cold …. PERFECT! I have not been to Tyrone Farm in awhile but it is one of my FAVORITE … and I say that very meaningful … favorite places to shoot. The view , the barn , the big old farm house …. just to mention a couple reasons of why I love this farm. But the real reason itself is the owner. He is the most personable, caring and accommodating person to work with. You should really check it out! …..

Okay now back to Jen & Andy ……

We got to start are day off with Andy and his boys!! These guys are so much fun and had me cracking up the entire time…. just a bunch of goofballs …. they love to laugh and have fun !

After some fun with the guys it was off to Tyrone Farm with the girls ….. one of the most amazing places at the farm is the farm house itself! The bright vintage colors and the light that peers through is amazing …. just see yourself…

This is one of my favorite moments of the day … a groomsman came with roses and a card from Andy to Jen … her expression is so priceless…..

Jen has so many amazing features ….. her personality shines through with laughter …. her eyes are always smiling …. oh and her tattoos rock! … I also want to mention that Jen’s flowers were amazingly done by Tyrone Farm! They grow their own fresh flowers and use them in the bouquets …. how cool is that … beautiful fresh cut … farm grown flowers!!!!! Yet another reason to love the farm even more!!!!

Andy and Jen opted for a first look … since sundown was early in the day they wanted to have a special moment and enjoy their time together. They decided that memories were very important … and given the amazing venue they had …. Jen & Andy wanted plenty of time for their memories to be captured.

After Andy & Jen had sometime to take everything in ….. we joined up with the bridal party!

Now some romantic time for Andy & Jen …. the long driveway tree lined ohh….
