Summer is officially here! The warm weather, the green grass and an old time tradition the rose garden at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford. In June we had our annual Tip Toe Through the Roses – Limited Edition Sessions at Elizabeth Park! Over two days we had quite a turnout! I had families, babies, children and teens! Such a variety and so much fun! Below is a quick peek of two families that we had on day one!

The next Limited Edition Session is going to be in August down at the beach!

Their little wrinkly skin …..

They are newborns ……….

There is something about a newborn …. the innocence … the tinny tiny feet and hands …. the fact that they are so dependant upon you. They just melt your heart and soul. I had the pleasure of being able to photograph little baby c when she was only 7 days old! She was so calm and collected. Take a look for yourself!

KENDRA: TURNS 2

By now most of you know that my FAVORITE little subject in this entire world is my niece Kendra. She is just the most amazing little person in my life. I enjoy always hanging with her , watching her turn form a baby into a little girl. I look at her today and cannot believe how fast she has grown and that she is 2!!!! That’s right 2!!!!! Since her birthday is during the coldest part of the year I always do a second birthday session in the spring. Right now she is into music and dancing … actually she has always loved music and dancing … but she loves to twirl in my little skirts.

KAREN: BEING BEAUTIFUL

Last October when Karen found out her and her husband were expecting I could of not been happier for them! After Congratulations were in order then next thing I said was … you know we are doing a pregnancy session right? Little did Karen know we would be photographing in front of a bar, or in her condo bushes, but the most beautiful tress were in bloom there. Yup that’s right I made her stand right in front of a bar. Talk about torture for a pregnant mom to be! But look how beautiful she looks!

This image is one of my FAVORITE of the day … it makes her look so beautiful and also a model.

After some outdoor fun we headed inside for a more intimate approach…

BRYNN and CAMRYN

I cannot believe how big children get and so fast! One minute they are newborns the other running around laughing. Your might remember Brynn from last year when she turned 1! Since her birthday falls right around Christmas, funny thing her birthday is 2 days before me, her Mom usually will wait till after the holiday madness for her session. This year since the family had a new arrival during the holiday session we decide to combine their session. Welcome Camryn! Camryn is about 4 months and I am looking forward to seeing her grow in the coming year.

LITTLE OLIVIA

Little Olivia’s mom gave me a call about her 3 year old photo session. As we were talking she mentioned how Olivia’s favorite thing to do right now is play dress up and be the queen or princess of the land. Olivia’s mom was like can we capture this moment in time of her playing dress up? Answer: YES! We Must!

When a client inquires with Nikki Nicole Photography we always talk about what you, the client, is thinking about or looking for. Is it to capture a moment in time, a certain stage in life or an idea for this incredible art piece for your wall? When photographing children I always remind the parents that this session of the child is about what is going on in the NOW! What does he/she love to do? Is it dress up, fire trucks, sports … the list goes on and on. In little Olivia’s case it is playing princess dress up!

After playing dress up we went outside to enjoy the spring weather …

5 MONTHS : NATHAN

It is always such a pleasure when I get to witness children growing up. I love to see how their little personalities grow and how they become little people.

The last time I had a chance to see Nathan was when he was about 10 days old! My has he grown! He now has 2 little teeth and such a laugh!

Nathan I look forward to seeing you in a couple of months and see how you grow into a little man!

She sat on the couch feeding them ….. Dad holding one … Mom feeding the other ….. then at the same time cries. “Twins” she says with a smile on her face. She looks up at me …. looks at her son little E and looks at Dad. Another smile comes across her face …. “Okay … we are ready now I think .”

MEET: NEWBORNS J & B

Little J & B were a mere 12 days old when I came to their home to meet. Usually I photograph newborns no older than 7 days old …. but since these little guys were in NICU .. due to being early …. we caught them at 12 days old.

Newborn are so precious …. their soft skin … their want to be held … their innocence … oh to be a newborn ….life is so tough…. the sleep….

Every morning as I sit on my front steps having my breakfast tea I see them outside playing. A wave… a nod … and even sometimes a HELLO…… they are my neighbors …….. they are Family C!

MEET: FAMILY C

For about a year now Family C has been nothing more than a wave and a hello. Then one day we got taking …… over facebook ..ha …. and the next thing we are doing … setting up that family portrait!

Family C has the cutest 2 girls …. Meet Little R & B ….

We meet up at my new favorite place for photos …. right down at the Rocky Hill Ferry! The ferry is such an amazing playground for me! There are the docks …. the train tracks …. the fields …. the water …. and so much more!

Family fun time !!!!!!

Could not forget about mom and dad too … but of course Sooner had to join in …. he LOVES his MAMA!

I also got these amazing little tutu’s that little girls just love playing in …. just look!

but before we left of course I had to photograph the man of the hour …… SOONER!!!!
