KENDRA: TURNS 2

By now most of you know that my FAVORITE little subject in this entire world is my niece Kendra. She is just the most amazing little person in my life. I enjoy always hanging with her , watching her turn form a baby into a little girl. I look at her today and cannot believe how fast she has grown and that she is 2!!!! That’s right 2!!!!! Since her birthday is during the coldest part of the year I always do a second birthday session in the spring. Right now she is into music and dancing … actually she has always loved music and dancing … but she loves to twirl in my little skirts.

Kendra I LOVE YOU!!!

JUST BECAUSE: SHE TURNED 84

Easter was a very special holiday this year. Yes we had the family together, yes we eat ALOT and ALOT of candy was around! But this year, for the 4th time in her life, my Nana had her birthday and turned 84! Her mother told her when she was very young that she was born on Easter and 3 other times in her life her birthday would fall on Easter. Well, great grandma was right. Because for the 4th time in her life Nana’s birthday and Easter fell together!

So here’s to you NANA! Looking wonderful and fabulous at 84!

and just because my niece is so cute, getting so big and she brings a smile on my face … a post of her as well!

Alot of you have watched Kendra grow up from a little newborn to now a little girl ……

she’s still a baby but really a little girl… I cannot believe how much she has changed and grown in just 18 months!

Seriously look at that face above … how can you not laugh and love her!

Come on …

She’s so big now that she can climb up the wooden ladder of her play-scape by herself! Now come on!

Kendra also LOVES her daddy’s  (my brother) tractor … look how happy she is just to sit up on it!

Okay so I may be a bit in LOVE with her but what Auntie wouldn’t be???

WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week has been one heck of a week! I returned on Monday from vacation and have just been trying to get into the swing of things! Answering email, voicemail and playing catch up …. final back to normal!

But what really needs catch up is this little ole bloggity blog! I have so much to share ….. a family portrait , two children’s sessions, 2 weddings and oh my trip and wedding in London! SO MUCH!

So I want to kick off the slew of posts that will be over the next week or two with this!

MEET: MISS CHRISTINE – AKA “LONZY”

Right before I left for vacation Buttonwood Farm‘s sunflower fields were up and in full bloom! I was so excited! I have been wanting for years now to do a session there! So I grabbed my bff and headed towards the farm! Being totally last minute and only having a certain day free… we jumped in the car and headed to the farm!

So before I post these images I have to set the scene up…..

Overcast day …. cooler side … rain in forecast … according to radar online no rain till like 8pm …. so we thought we were in the clear! Well think again just as we get up to the farm ….. the skies open up and it starts to pour rain ….. but we shot anyways! Not only did it rain but as we were photographing and Christine was sitting on the rock wall… the wall well decide to go down and so did Christine and a bruise. Not only did that happen … yeas there is more … Christine got shocked for what we thought was just a wire fence … nope an electric fence … but it was all worth it!

See the fields were only in bloom like 2 more days and well … we were there … so without anymore chit chat … my bff Miss Christine -  AKA “Lonzy”

I LOVE this one …. just something about it!

Yeah there were changes of outfits in the rain….

This is were we got soaked ….. pouring rain!

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!  OMG!!!!!!!!!!!  Or any other screams for joy sounds you can think of!

A couple of weeks ago my good friend and extremely talented photographer Carla Ten Eyck (aka C10) and her amazing associate Erik Maziarz graciously took me out for a shoot! I have been asking Carla about shooting me for my new blog and for some other stuff and we finally were able to do it!

So today just like 5 minutes ago she surprised me with shots on the her blogy site!

As I step into the crossfit gym time after time in awe of everyone around me I get anxious, jealous and then determined.

I watch all the girls swing their fit bodies up and down and back again over the pull-up bar. I watch each girl and guy do one pull-up after another as I warm up each time for my workout. I watch and watch and watch time after time hoping to learn some type of technique. After each warm-up I get on the box under the pull-up bar and do some jumping pull-ups. I feel my breathe getting shortened and my arms getting sore but I still don’t have that darn pull-up without the box. I kick the box out from underneath the bar, and i hear a faint voice from across the gym “Come on Nik you can do it!”. I take a look at my torn, sore hands and take a deep breathe. A big jump up and a grab onto the bar! A swing forward, a swing back, another swing forward and up….. come on eyes see over that bar… is what I keep saying to myself. I let go and get determined to see over that bar. I take a deep breathe again,  jump up and grab onto the bar. A swing forward, a swing back, another swing forward and up and …….. eyes what you are over the bar!!!!!!!!!

THAT’S RIGHT I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!    A PULL-UP!!!!!!!!!!!

See I have be so determined for 6 moths to get at least one up and I have!

I jump down with joy and screams and some high fives… yes high fives!!!!!

That feeling of finally accomplishing something you have worked towards for so long!

Moral of the story: If you work hard towards something you will eventually get it!

And because no post is complete without a picture… get what my dove chocolate told me today!

Okay they make your legs look really really good but they hurt my feeties!

I just love they way they feel on my feet and look….. and guess what no more traveling to NYC to visit the Puma Store!

That’s right they opened a Puma store in Moheagan Sun! YEAH!!! That’s right now I can spend tons more money on pumas

and add to the collection so……

I have not purchased a new camera in quite sometime and felt it
was time to upgrade! I am so excited about this little ole camera
for it not only takes photos but also video! I cannot wait to
try it out soon!

i also had the chance to purchase a new lens!!!!

The 85mm 1.8!!!!!!

I have been wanting a prime lens for a bit now and decided that this
one is perfect for me to start off with!

What does this mean…. sharper images!!!!!!
